The al-Kiritliya House, that was built by certainly one of Cairo’s notables, Muhammad al-Jazzar in 1631 AD, is known as one of many rare and precious Islamic monuments in Cairo, since it gives vivid examples of what Islamic architecture reached, especially in the Mamluk and Ottoman eras. A female from the island of Crete was known by the name of the House of Crete or Kardaliah, and it is registered with this name in the Antiquities Authority.
The house is situated on the eastern side of the Mosque of Ibn Tulun. For the explanation for calling it the Jayer Anderson Museum, that extends back to 1935 AD once the Egyptian government granted Major Jair Anderson, who was simply residing in Cairo, the best to reside in one of many oldest Arab houses.
