Baron Empain Palace (photo gallery 10) In order for the Baron to attract people to his new suburb, he thought of building a metro and commissioned the Belgian engineer Andre Brachlo, who was working at the time with the Paris Metro Company, to construct a metro line linking the new suburb to Cairo.
