The Anfushi tombs are known for easy types and design of squares, lozenges, and octagons, having white black, blue, and red colors. This video is predicated on our visit to Egypt during October, 2016. The Catacombs of Kom el-Shouqafa in Alexandria, entombed over 300 mummies, and is certainly one of the Seven Wonders of the Medieval Ages.

Another important aspect of ancient burial customs is the sarcophagus. A sarcophagus was a box-shaped funeral receptacle made of stone. These were often decorated, and were designed to stand against a wall. Some were also buried beneath the earth, but they were rarely used when cremation was the norm. The term “sarcophagus” derives from the Greek word, sarcophagus.
