To know the history of the Alexandria Court of First Instance building, go back in time dozens of years, as it was built at the beginning of the last century. The Egyptian Buildings Authority, which was then assigned to build, entrusted the contractor, Mokhtar Ibrahim, to construct the court building. It seems to be influenced by the prevailing architectural style at the time, which is the English style.
The building was developed in line with the civilized pattern of ancient Alexandria without distorting the original character of the old, especially for the presence of the court in this important place. The court is located in a place overlooking the eastern port area in Mansheya. This building was listed and documented in the Antiquities volume in 1999. The court is located directly in front of the Alexandria Corniche wall with a view of the sea, and the Alexandria Court of First Instance building stands as a witness to the history of the city of Alexandria and its many events.
The high facade of the building was decorated with the inscriptions of the ancient Egyptian flag before it was changed to the modern form, and the crescent remained on the facade of the court, embracing the three stars, as it was in the form of the flag during the rule of the Muhammad Ali family, rising above the stars, the current flag of Egypt with its three colors. You also see wooden windows for the court, but their paint has disappeared with time. The most famous works of art depicted in this building are the Aida opera series by the actor Yahya Al-Fakharani and actress Hanan Turk, and it achieved great success. Also in the past, the movie platform number five was filmed by the great actor Farid Shawqi.
